Gorge Ecology staff helps a student look for invertebrates

Students from The Dalles performed a bioblitz last spring at property owned by the Friends of the Columbia Gorge.  For two hours, students identified everything they possibly could, from plants to birds to invertebrates.  We had a great time sitting amid the balsamroot and soaking up the sunshine while watching hawks and finding scorpions.

Students will repeat the bioblitz this April and compare species lists.  The Friends of the Gorge will take these lists into account as they make plans for the future of this property.
