2009 Columbia Gorge Earth Day Get the promotional flyer here!
The Procession of All Species will leave from the Saturday market lot at 12:30 pm on April 18th. This is a parade through downtown Hood River celebrating the species of Planet Earth! Community members are encouraged to use art, costumes or music to express their appreciation and connection to the natural world. There are three ground rules: No dogs, motorized vehicles or written words are permitted. However, as long as those rules are followed there is an opportunity for many levels of participation. There are opportunities to march, help others with costumes or floats, or just come and observe. The parade also offers a chance to share your art with the public, make a statement and, best of all, celebrate our earth! For information about other processions around the world and a large dose of inspiration have a look at the Olympia WA, Procession of All Species website.
