Gorge ECOLOGY Science Camp

Course Description:  For 12 to 14 year-olds.  Learn science through the coolest activities in the Gorge area with Gorge Ecology Institute naturalists.  This is the only locally-run program that combines science and math aligned with Oregon and Washington State standards.  Learn about playing in the Gorge:

  • Kayaking

  • Kite boarding

  • Rock climbing

  • Mountain biking

  • Family day hiking and a barbecue

All classes will be outdoors and students will be provided with Gorge ECOLOGY Camp T-shirts and journals.  All transport, supplies, lunch and snacks will be provided. 

The Gorge Ecology Institute is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to teaching education in the Gorge.  All profits from this summer camp go towards funding our school programs.

Instructors:  Gorge Ecology Institute, Columbia Gorge Kayak School, Brian's Windsurfing
Location:  The Gorge Ecology Institute, 203 Second Street, downtown Hood River
Dates:   Monday-Friday, August 7th - 11. One over-night camp day.
Time:   8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m.
Student Limit:   15
Number of Sessions:   5
Class Fee:   $290.00 or $75 per day
Supply Fee:   $0
