Field Excursion with CGEI!

On April 15th CGEI will be hosting an all day Field Excursion. The day will be broken down into a morning session as well as an afternoon session with plenty of time for lunch and games. In the morning we will reveal the Power of Water as participants will discover how to measure the flow of water. Determine ways that water is used. Discuss ways to educate others about water conservation. Using scientific methods, engaging conversation, and local waterways as our tools this hands on program is designed to leave participants with a new appreciation and understanding of our most valuable resource. The afternoon will be spent doing some Fairy Habitat Restoration where creativity and imagination will shine as students construct lost fairy homes. Understanding of habitats and ecosystems will be gained. Immerse yourself in an imaginary world where all the fairy’s habitats have been destroyed. Essential habitat needs will be defined as well as the need for adaptations in this wildly entertaining and exciting program.

Our Field Excursions are open to participants of all ages, however, elementary students will benefit the greatest on April 15th. We will beging the day at 9am and end at 4pm. The entire program will take place on the Indian Creek Trail in Hood River at the CGCC Indian Creek Campus. The cost for the entire day is $40 or you can choose to do a half day for $20. Registration and payment is required prior to participation so please email us for more information or to register at drew(at)gorgeecology(dot)org.
